Invoice Buddy's Free tier saves all your data directly to your web browser using Local Storage, meaning your data never leaves your device. This makes the app incredibly fast and private, but requires you to export backups manually so you don't lose your data if you clear your cache.
What is Local Storage?
Local Storage is a feature in your web browser that allows websites to save data directly on your device.
- Pros: It's completely private (we don't see your data) and works instantly without needing to log in.
- Cons: If you clear your browser's "Site Data" or "Cache", your invoices will be permanently deleted. You also cannot see your invoices on your phone if you created them on your laptop.
[!CAUTION] Never clear your browser data without exporting a backup first! If you want your data securely backed up to the cloud, consider upgrading to Pro.
