We collect information to provide our invoicing services and to improve our platform.

Business Data (Pro Tier): We store ABNs, business names, and bank account details (BSB/Account Number) strictly to populate your invoices.

Tax Buffer Data (Pro Tier): We store invoice totals to calculate your tax estimates.

Analytics & Improvements: We use tools such as PostHog to collect de-identified data on how you interact with our site. This includes page views, button clicks, and feature usage. This helps us decide which features to build next.

Free Service: Our free invoicing tool is "stateless." We do not store your invoice data, client details, or tax calculations on our servers. Once you clear your browser history, that data is gone.

Pro Service (Cloud Sync): If you upgrade to Pro, your data is saved to your account so you can access it across multiple devices.

Your data is stored in the AWS ap-southeast-2 region (Sydney, Australia) via Supabase. By hosting locally, we ensure your data remains subject to Australian privacy protections and provides the lowest possible latency for our Australian users.

While Invoice Buddy provides a platform for generating and storing invoices, we are not an official tax record-keeping service.

User Responsibility: Business owners are responsible for maintaining their tax records.

Not a Permanent Archive: Invoice Buddy does not guarantee the permanent storage of your records. We reserve the right to delete data from unpaid accounts or upon cancellation of a subscription.

Action Required: We provide a Bulk Export feature. It is your responsibility to download and back up your data at the end of each financial year to satisfy your ATO obligations.
